Solstice Labyrinth Walk

Contemplation
At this time of year, the universe pauses.

From June 19th through 22nd, 2012, the length of daylight remains the same; the sun rises at 5:48 a.m. and sets at 8:35 p.m. (PDT) The cosmos holds its breath. During this change of season, mid-way through the year is a beautiful opportunity for us to also pause and reflect on what has been planted and is now coming to fruition. Last evening, we held a Solstice Labyrinth Walk to do just that.

Calling in the energies of Yellow (joy, exuberance, honor) - and '5' (change), we walked, held still, skipped, and ran through this beautiful labyrinth created by Lars Howlett out of local stones. Adults, children, dogs all embodied these gifts for each other.

2012 is a '5' year (2+0+1+2-=5), and so was the day (6+2+1+2+0+1+2=14; 1+4=5) which is the energy of change and, following the teachings of the Heirophant, faith. The question we brought into our walking meditation was, "How do I create a bridge to my soul?"

Dizzying!

We can allow ourselves to be cocooned by Soul, that aspect of ourselves which loves us unconditionally. But our task is also to make a home for our souls to exist on earth. For the soul to be able to do its work, we are each responsible for creating a place from which its presence can emerge.

"Only the soul knows what love is."
"When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy."
"It is LOVE that holds everything together, and it is the everything also."
- Rumi
